Our work

Unique conditions for teaching and abilitation of the children with autism spectrum disorders have been created in the Federal Resource Center for Organization of Comprehensive Support to Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (FRC), research theoretical and practical base has been formed, a highly professional team of teachers work in the Center.

The Center unites professional community of Moscow, Russia and a number of foreign countries - professionals working with children with autism spectrum disorders. The main goal of this community is the inclusion of the children and their families into an educational environment of the city. It means that we will not lose these children, and they will become a part of our society

The mission of the Center is consolidation of  the efforts of the society to solve the problems of the people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

The goal  is creation of  a model of the process of resource support, adaptation and integration of children with ASD.

Objectives:

- Rendering  a comprehensive targeted assistance to children with ASD;

- Creation of alternative models of effective assistance to children with ASD;

- Dissemination of innovative educational technologies for children with ASD.

OUR HISTORY

1994 –  Opening of Complex of Social Assistance to Children and Adolescents of the Department of Education of Moscow in accordance with the decision of Moscow Government. The Center was  one of the first established in Moscow and Russia centers which provided psycho-educational, medical and social assistance to children and adolescents.

A large contribution to the creation and formation of the Center as well as in strategy determination of its development was made by outstanding figures of science and education A.G. Rumyantsev, E.A. Iamburg, V.V. Rubtsov, T.V. Akhutina, V.N. Kasatkin.

1994 - 2008 – Under the leadership of V.N. Kasatkin a system of comprehensive care for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities is formed.

2001 – Amalgamation of Complex of Social Assistance to Children and Adolescents of the Department of Education of Moscow with Educational Complex N 1831 (for autistic children) and creation on their basis of SEI Center for Psychological, Medical and Social Support for Children and Adolescents. Since 2001 the Center has been specializing  in providing comprehensive care for children with autism spectrum disorders.

2012 - Center for Psychological, Medical and Social Support for Children and Adolescents becomes a structural subdivision of SEI HPE MSUPE.

April 15, 2016, within the framework of the Moscow International Salon of Education, the opening ceremony of the Federal Resource Center for the organization of comprehensive support of children with autism spectrum disorders was held.

General education programs used in the school center

Directions and organizational modalities for the provision of correctional care at the Center

Training children for school is carried out at one-to-one lessons by speсial education teacher, speech therapists, educational psychologists.

 

Social interaction skills, social games and communication in children with ASD are formed through group sessions

 

Motor correction of movement disorders in children with ASD is carried out in class at sports studios of the Center

 

The formation of the stereotype behavior and initial school skills in children with ASD takes place at one-to-one lessons with  special education teacher

 

Difficulties in mastering the basic educational programs for children with ASD are overcome in the course of one-to-one lessons with a special education teacher

 

The work of the class-lesson system allows children with ASD to prepare for learning in the conditions of inclusive education

 

The formation of skills in children with ASD is carried out in the classroom for social and consumer orientation

 

Creative, sports events and other actions organized by the Centre contribute to the socialization of children with ASD,  and to the formation of their social behavior

 

Publishing activity of the Center

Since 2003 scientific and practical journal Autism and Developmental Disorders  (Russia) has been published by the Center.

Themes of the  articles:

 analysis of theories of autism;

 diagnosis of children with ASD and other developmental disabilities;

 approaches to teaching children with autism spectrum disorders;

 methods of correction and treatment of ASD;

 Information about where and how to get professional help.
